new aftermarket headlight problem

I just recently purchased a 65/55W pair of new KYO headlights for my 02 f150. What i was going for was a BMW style bright lights with that cool tint of blue. I got my headlights the other day via mail and i screwed them in and i hate them. Its more of a blue light then that tint of blue in the white headlight and the visiblilty isnt near as good as the stock yellow lights. I am debating on buying a higher wattage bulb. Perhaps the 100/85 but am not sure if the truck can handle the wattage. What should I do? Should i buy the higher wattage headlights in the same brand? or should i try switching brands and keep the same wattage in hoping for a brighter bulb?....I heard from another thread that someone tried using higer wattage bulbs and they werent as bright as the lower wattage because there truck couldnt power the high wattage.

Why not just go with the 30% brighter lamps at about $10 ea. out of the auto stores like Auto Zone?
This way you don't over tax the headlite switch and wiring.
There are other ways to use high wattage lamps by wireing in an extra relay and supplying power direct from the battery.
You must be cautious about melting the housings with very high wattage lamps.

Most true higher wattage bulbs will tax your stock wiring harness and eventually fry it. You can buy HD harnesses from a number of places, but there have been other horror stories about housing damage from the heat. I've gone to Sylvania Silverstars as about the best (safe) bet. If you really want more light, you've got to add either auxillary lighting (driving or fog lights) or go with a well designed HID system like the Sylvania Xenarc setup. Remember, looks aren't everything.

Higher wattage bulbs may melt the wires or sockets. And in my experience the extra watts are barely noticable.
The best bulbs for the price are Eurolite Fusion. About U$20 a pair on Ebay. Nice bright, white light with minimal blue. They only last about 12 months before burning out so get spares.
The Sylvania Silverstars are IMO overrated and overpriced.

There's a store on the web called Autotoys that sells the Eurolite Fusions which are the ones to get. I think a pair of the 9007s is around $17 or so. They are awesome. I've been running them for a while now. I've been through different brands over the years and I've liked these the best. For stock wattage, they are the brightest and closest to real HIDs that I've found.

The best thing is, I just got some aftermarket Lightning lamps and now these bulbs really shine. They are amazing in non-stock lamps. I got the aftermarket lamps for $70 on ebay. Here's an auction link with the pics.

I also called the phone number in the auction and got the matching corners for $20 more.
