Question Wire Harness / Connectors

I am in the process of adding some power folding mirrors to my truck and had a question.

I have one connector with 16 pins - 10 of the pins are connected to a wire. I need to add an additional wire to connector to a pin. The question I have is 1.) Is it possible to insert a wire into the connector and solder - seems hard since the hole in the connector is so small OR 2.) do I purchase a new wire harness with the connector attached?

Are connectors sold individually from wiring harnesses or vice versa? Or are they sold as a single unit.

I will be buying my parts from the local Ford dealer.

Any help appreciated.

connectors

Each wire has a terminal crimped on the end that slides into the connector. if you can get some terminals strip and crimp it on. the terminals have locks that hold them into the connectors dont need to solder into connector you would just plug the cavity. If you have an old connector take a wire out and splice it in if you cant get any terminals
