Interior Lights & Wipers Dead
Interior Lights & Wipers Dead
Last night is got down to about 40 below, this morning my 99 f150 dosnt have an interior light or wipers.
Everything else works fine.
This also happened last year and the dealer took all the wiper hardware apart and reassembled, it fixed the problem but I think it was more because the truck thawed out while in their shop. I think this because they didnt touch anything to do with the lights yet those were also fixed
My suspicion is that the cold has iced up some condensation somewhere where theres a connection between the interior light and the wipers. I find it really odd that both times there was a definite link between the wipers and the lights, why would they both go at the same time?
Anyways, after reading this site I am thinking its iced up in the GEM.
Any opinions are appreciated.

Man, these GEM modules sure seem like a peice of crap.
I've read so much on these boards about them.
Basically the dealer took the GEM module out, looked it over, everything looked fine to him, he cleaned it up, put it back in and now apparantly everything is fine (I havent picked it up yet).
He mentioned the water leaking thing but, like I said, it was nearly 40 below out.
He also mentioned that the cold could be retracting on a solder point causing it to fail.
Very frustrating.
