Hello Philby,
Can you give us a bit more info about your truck?
Year and model would be helpful.

Your best bet for something like this is to buy a Haynes or Chilton manual for the truck. You can get them from specialist suppliers in the UK like Millhouse Books.
Have a look at the adverts in Classic American magazine.

The truck listed is a SuperCrew XLT, or it is at least a 2001 ( or is that 2000 ?? ).

The reverse lamps in the wiring harness up by the tail lamp is Black with a pink stripe on the pos side ( the side from the reversing lamps switch ), and the neg side is the black wire.

If you have a factory trailer adapter, with the relay in place, in front of the round 7 pin adapter it is a black with a light green stripe on the pos side ( from the trailer tow reversing lamp relay ).

Either of these will work getting a set of reversing lamps to work. If you are using a wattage blub higher then the 21 watt bulb ( think that it is what they are stock ? ) use the trailer connector for powering it, or a relay feed from the battery, and the normal harness reversing lamp lead.

Good luck, let us know if you need something else on the topic.

I added aux. back up lights. I used small 55w fogs and mounted them on the receiver hitch using the mount brackets and large hose clamps. I wired them to the tow plug. I think it was the center pin. they come on when put in reverse. I didn't feel like running a wire and adding a switch in the cab. they have been on 2 years with no problems.
