FYI

While your waiting on a response, just wanted to make sure you knew about the search tab.
I looked before and there is already a ton of good info. Problem is the words have to be three letters or more........so no XM.
Try satellite radio or Serius and sort through till you find XM
Good luck and keep us posted if you get one

I have XM. I can recommend it. Prefer tape adapter over FM modulated. Much better sound quality. Do know much about the new XM ready receivers.

I just bought a MyFi to replace my Sony Plug and Play.

I have XM in my 97, I love it. I would recommend getting the digital modulator (its about $45), it plugs in-line with antenae (sp?) and you don't get any static.

Do a search for "ProFit mount" and you will find a company that makes really nice mounts that work great with the XM. They don't hinder the use of any controls or cup holders.

Good luck!

I have XM....of course I yanked out the OEM 6 Disc In-Dash CD player after about 1 month of ownership. I love it. Like suggested, do a quick search on XM installations and such, you'll find a butt load of stuff. Some good suggestions:
  • If you're hell bent on keeping the OEM headunit, someone makes a RCA adapter kit for the stock HU. I'd go this route before using FM modulators and the such.
  • Stick the XM antenna under the windshield wiper cowl. It keeps the install looking clean and the theives away.
  • If you're looking for an aftermarket unit, Alpine makes an All-In-One HU. (Think it's the 9820XM) that has the XM tuner built into the headunit. Alternatively, you can buy something else, but you'll have to buy the head unit AND the sat tuner. Alpine recently released a new line of headunits that support BOTH XM and Sirius tuners (not at the same time, but you can swap between XM and Sirius and still keep the same head unit).

Cool

If you want to search for words less than 4 letters you can use wildcards to make the search engine happy.

For example:

oil* will return oil related threads.

XM** will return XM related threads.

Of course, other words with those same letters will come back as a positive match, but you can quickly see a lot of threads relating to your search.
