Key out, ignition on, possible??????

After work the other night I pulled the key out of the ignition and I noticed the radio was on. I turned the ignition switch and I thought everything was turned off. The next day the battery was dead. I've since charged the battery and everything seems to be ok. Is it possible for the key to be out of the ignition and the power to be on? What could have caused this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ignition switch didn't go all the way to the off position. Bet you can do it again if you try. Just a fluke of tolerences and maybe some wear in the mechincal chain.
The steering wheel lockup is part of this deal too.

My '95 does this. I can remove the key and leave the truck running. I think it's the result of some wear in the ignition switch. I have to fiddle with it sometimes to get it out/in.
