Brake warning switch?

Hi...
I've got a 2002 SCrew... on the front of the brake master cylinder there is an electrical plug going into some sort of switch... anyone know what that switch does? Is it a brake fluid and/or pressure warning switch?

Thanks,
Levi

It's a pressure differential switch. Should there be a failure in one half of the system, the switch moves and triggers the dummy light on the dash.

Thanks, I appreciate the info.

the switch on the front of the master cylinder is for the cruise control.

There should be a fluid level switch (often in the cap) and the Cruise Deactivator switch mounted on the master cylinder.

The Deactivator switch removes power from the cruise module in the event of high brake pedal effort. It is a redundant safety device that is there to disconnect the cruise in the event that the brake (or clutch interlock switch for a manual transmission) light switch circuit fails.
