AOD tranny problems

My second truck is a 1992 1/2 ton F-150, with a 302 automatic, and AOD transmission. I was wondering if someone could tell me why I have lost just the drive and overdrive range in my transmission. All other ranges work (reverse, 1st, 2nd, neutral). In the past, I have experienced this problem in another truck, which turned out to be the governor. I was told it was a bad drive band in this one, which I hope to not have to pull the tranny for. Anyone's advice or help would greatly be appreciated.

Locate the ignition module and if you can, remove it and get it tested. A bad module will cause your no start.

You really need to identify which subsystem is malfunctioning: Fuel delivery, Spark (ignition), or air.

Then you will know where to focus your efforts.
