Today my driver's side power window would only go down half way and stop. After trying it a few times it went all the way down and then up. I have noticed since the truck was new the window would always bind slightly half way down. Anyone else had this problem? Any idea what's causing this and how can it be fixed? Is this just the start of the power window motor going altogether? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

 

I have had the same problem on my 2000 excursion since it was new. Only it's the passenger side. It never did stop working, but get's really slow going down, but it goes up just fine. I took it to the dealer while it was still under warranty and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. It's gotten worse this winter, but as the vehicle warms up inside it gets a little better. From what I've read so far it either needs lubed or a new motor. When I get a chance I will lubed it up and let you know the results.
