Starter cable connector

I have a 98 F150 SCAB 4x4 sb 4.6l . The other night after I stopped at the store it wouldn't start. After cliimbing underneath I found that the Starter cable connector had corroded off of the positive side of the solenoid on the starter. My question is this common for the newer trucks ? Where does the other end go to ? The solenoid on the firewall ? I would like to replace the whole cable. I cut off the bad connector and soldered on a new connector. The wire was pretty corroded behind the old connector and I could not get a REALLY good solder joint like I would have liked to get. Did any of you have this problem ? 1

Thanks, Dan in MA

Dan, I had the same problem with my starter cable connection. I just re-posted my post from a month ago.

Just look for the post "Corrosion on Electrical Wires of the Starter". It should answer your question.
