Airbag off

I weigh 200 lbs, but my wife (poor girl) only weighs 80 lbs. Problem is that when she's in the passenger seat, it turns the airbag off. Is there anyway I can rectify this. I live in the UK and we don't have any US Ford dealers to sort this problem out.

Hi Zofro

I've got a 2004 F150 Lariat. I just need to keep the airbag on when she's in the seat. I wondered if you could make some adjustment for her weight. Thanks for your help

Cheers Fred

The system is designed to prevent the airbag from operating in the event that the passenger is very small.

It is working correctly.

Your wife would be in greater danger from the airbag during deployment than she would be from a crash. She will have to rely on the safety harness for occupant protection.

Steve

PS. Of course, when she fattens up later in life, this won't be a problem......

HI projectSHO89. She must be borderline, as if she leans on her right buttock the sign goes off.

Telling her to put weight on, you must be kidding. Shes 5ft 1 and gorgeous.

I just hoped there was a way to adjust the measure. - Thanks for the advice

Regards Fred
