DRIVER'S DOOR: LOCK AND UNLOCK ARE REVERSED. WAS IT REPLACED WITH A PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH? FORD DEALER CAN'T HELP ME. DOESN'T CARRY THE SWITCH INSTOCK SO I CAN'T MATCH TO SEE IF THE CONNECTION IS THE SAME AND THEY DO HAVE DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS.
2ND PROBLEM: A/C COMPRESSOR COMES ON IN THE FLOOR AND PANEL & FLOOR POSITIONS, WHEN I WANT HEAT.
3RD PROBLEM: HEAT CONTROL **** FLIP-FLOPS WITH FAN ON HIGH OR TRAVELING ABOVE 50 MPH.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

2&3 might be related. Check the temp control **** by removing it and seeing if ti has cracks where it mounts to the post. These ***** are known for this condition and it causes it to slip while you turn it, keeping the temp inbetween cold and hot and poss. making your compressor run.
PESTCO 1
Would the temp (heat) control have any affect when the selector is in the panel & floor or the floor position?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the a/c compressor is not supposed to come on in either of these positions.
Thanx for the info on the temp control, I'll check that tonight.

Check to see if the wires for the switch were installed backwards possibly. The "unlock" side of the switch should have a pink wire with yellow stripe. The "lock" side of the switch should have a pink wire with light green stripe. The parts are different. F78Z14028AAA is the right side part number, and F65Z14028AAB is the left side part number.
The A/C compressor cycles on and off in all modes except Panel and Floor if the outside air is above 50 degrees.
This helps to reduce the humidity in the vehicle as every position except MAX A/C pull in outside air
What do you mean by control **** flip/flops (listening to to much campain jargin) do you mean the air output changes from panel to floor or defrost? These functions are done by directing engine vaccum to damper doors and can open or close if their is a problem with the vaccum lines or tank.
Good luck!
Oh by the way using all CAPS is consideried shouting. But then maybe this problem has got you to that point.
Lets us know how you come out!

I guess I wasn't too clear..........
The driver's door lock switch locks when it should open and vice-versa.
Both left and right side switches are connected with plug-type connectors. Could a passenger side switch been installed in the driver's door? Would that make it operate in reverse?
The a/c compressor comes on when I have it pointed at the "floor" position or at the "panel&floor" position........it kicks on and stays on when it was 36 degrees in Aberdeen, SD pheasant hunting 2 weeks ago.
About the flip-flop....it was just a minor problem before, but now I have no heat at all. I'm going to pull the panel when I finish installing her(wife's) new front door.
