Battery Suggestions

I'm in a bind and could use some help with brands of batteries.

The original MotorCraft battery in my '02 finally bit the dust. I am getting a yellow / red cell. I am planning to buy a battery tomorrow (Sunday) before I start the work week.

I has considering buying another MotorCraft in spite of their slightly higher pice, but that's out on a Sunday. I have access to Everstart (Wal-Mart), Dura-Last (AutoZone), and DieHard (Sears). They all appear to be in the same ballpark from a price standpoint.

I've had bad luck with Everstart in the past, but Wal-Mart always gives a full replacement no questions asked. Its just a pain.

Opinions about these three brands?

I vote Optima

Due to cost if worse comes to worse I would get a diehard. Otherwise Optima all the way, Red top would work out well.

Consumer Reports had an article in this months issue about car batteries, and how they rated compared to the stated CCA rating on the battery. I can't remember the top rated ones but if anyone cares, I'll try to remember to look them up.

Amazingly, the original MotorCraft is stilling holding on in spite of the "dead" yellow cell.

Everyone's gung-ho about the Optima, but they are little pricey. I guess if they perform and last as advertised, they are worth the price. How many month warrantee do they provide?
