FX4 Instrument Cluster Swap

Has anyone tried to swap instrument clusters in a 2004 F150 yet? I bought the STX (wanted monochrome paint, but not the FX4 payment book) and want to put the FX4 instrument cluster in it.
Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated as I work for Ford as a service manager and nobody will tell me anything at Ford's tech hotline.

You can't find out. I don't know, but if instr. cluster is interchangeable, is it plug & play? As I recall earlier model's w/PATS were not. If still same, not only $$$ for cluster, but $$$ for reprogramming. Maybe no biggie, but ODO mi. will be diff.

Althou you should get discount, right?

Good luck...OT

BTW..look for update's. My info. certainly dated & maybe n/a. My 99 had PATS, swapping clusters was not p/play.

The FX4 cluster is tha AutoMeter style one with full gauges, the STX one only has speed, fuel, and temp. As far as PATS goes, I luckily have access and training to all the Ford diag and programming tools.
