Brake light problems, need help...
I have a strange thing happening with my brake lights on my 97 F150. My wife was driving it this morning and I noticed that the brake lights was not working, I thought.....blown fuse. I pulled all the fuses out and none of them were blown. I had her hit the brakes while I watched from the rear and a strange thing happened. Everytime she would hit the brakes, the brake lights would flash on then go off, even though she was holding the brakes all the way down. I had her do it again, release the brakes then apply the brakes all the way......the brake lights on the truck just momentarily came on (flashed), then they were off. I then thought......it must be the switch on the brake pedal sticking. So I wiggled the brake pedal pretty hard, then applied the brake. And all the brake lights worked, so I tried it again......let off the pedal, then reapplied........they worked for a few times correctly then they went back to the flash/off thing again. So, then I sprayed the switch with with WD-40, thinking that it was just sticking. But that didn't work either. Any ideas????
This is the first time this has ever happened.
Thanks

Sounds like the switch to me too. Try this. Have your wife slowly depress the pedal while you're watching. See if the switch turns the lights on in the first part of the travel, then shuts them off as she presses further. If it looks like there's something there, try using your hand to depress the pedal after you hook a test light to the switch and see what happens right in front of your face. My money's on the switch.
