I have a 2 wheel drive 4.2 V6 that has a Check Charge light on (battery symbol). I just replaced the battery and alternator but the light is still on. I looked at a service manual at AutoZone and it says to check the ALT fuse and ALT field fuse. I found an ALT field fuse in the power distribution box (inner left of the engine compartment) [The fuse looks good] but the book says the fuses are located behind the PDB. The diagram for a typical V6 in the service manual shows two "boxes" in the inner left area but I have only one. The book's diagram shows three fuses...ALT fuse...ALT mega fuse and ALT field fuse. Please help me find these or give me suggestions to get this fixed. As it stands AutoZone tested my original alternator (almost six years old with 128,000 miles)and they said it is fine and the new alternator is not ****ioning in the truck. Please help!
