Question Front & Back fuel tanks fail to indicate content level

Would like to know the electromechanical causes that prevents the fuel tank gage to respond to both front and back tanks liquid levels.
History: In 2002, The front tank stopped indicating the fuel level.
In 2004, The rear tank stopped indicating the fuel level.
I have been very careful to use only supreme fuel from what hopefully was reliable gas stations since the truck was new.
I recently sloshed the fuel tanks to see if the level sending units would at least temporarally indicate and this did not work.
Could the tank selection switch be at fault?
Are there a fuses in this electrical circuit that has blown?
Could the sending units be removed without removing the fuel tanks??
Is there an available electrical schematic for the fuel measurement system available and where might it be accessed??
Thank you for any responses.
