Interior Lights disengage

I have a 2003 F-150 and need a way to shut off the interior lights from being activated when the door is opened. Is there a pin in the door latch that can be taped closed? I was hoping for a way that would not involve cutting wires, etc.
Many thanks !

if you stick something in the door latch like a screw driver you can close the latch and the lights will shut off as it thinks the door is closed.

if you unplug the door adjar switches in the doors it will always see the doors as closed and not turn the lights on. (requires removale of the door panel)

not sure if the 03 f-150 has it but some dimmer switches allow you to turn them all the way down till they click and it will over ride the dome lamp.

When we go to the drive-in movies with our '99 Expedition, we usually keep the doors open. To keep the lights off and all other power on, I pull the fuse for the interior lights. I found it in the owner's manual. I would assume it would work for the F-150 as well, but I haven't tried it on mine.
