Ipod Install - 12V power question

All - I have a 2000 F150 - I am installing my Ipod Mini into, but need to determine what color the 12v wire is. Also, what color the ground is (but not a necessity). Anyhelp will be greatly appreciated and I will post install pics.............

are you hardwiring it in? what kind of plug does it have, lighter adapter?
you can always just pull power from the fuse box or tap the battery and run a wire through the plug in the firewall and in. hook that into a distribution block if you have future power upgrades and mods planned.

tough one

In these new vehicles there is no specific colors for hot and ground the best thing to do is go to wal-mart or radio shack and purchase a little cheap volt meter (not a test light as they will work on 6 volts also and the ipod wont) then try to find a wire in the dash that has twelve volts or up to 14 volts and connect your hot wire there as for the ground make as short as possible and connect to the nearest bolt on the firewall or somewere close.
