Removing tail light lens

I have a 99, 150, and need to replace the tail light bulb. I removed the two scews holding the lens on and it is definitely loose, but won't come loose from the body on the opposite side. I'm afraid to pry too hard and break it. Anyone know what the trick is?

Yes, the simple thing to do is pull harder. Don't worry you will not break it, the assembly is quite robust.

I don't recall for sure on the other tails, but the ones on the SCrew are a slight pull out after removing the screws, and then pull back.

The rear( actually the part towards the front of the truck ) is a set of tabs, but you need to pull the rear out from the body to clear the mounting points.

Again, this is with a SCrew, so the other sytle tail light might be very different, so YMMV.

Good luck

Thanks, the tabs shown in step #2, is what I was trying to describe. pulling the tail lamps housing away from the tailgate slightly, and then back is what I was trying to get at.

I think we need to get Steve to build a how-to forum, with sticky posts for writeups like this. RP or Clonetech could move them there.

Thanks for the pics, I'll keep this one in my FAQ listing for the next thread !
