Remote Start Problem (I think)
I've got an odd problem (or at least I think it's a problem) that I need help with.
I've installed an Audiovox APS-996a in my '03 F150 Supercrew.
Currently about the only thing that I have hooked up is the remote start, the PATS bypass module (DEI 555U), and the LED.
Everything works fine, with one exception...
When remote starting, there's about an 8 second delay from when the engine turns over until the gauges "come on."
Exactly what happens is…
I click on my remote twice, the remote gives me a nice tune to let me know that it's processing my request, the engine cranks, and then about 6-7 seconds go by and the gauges then snap to their proper positions. About 1-2 seconds after the gauges snap on, the odometer lights up.
All the gauges show the correct information once they come on; my only concern is the delay before they do.
When starting with the key, there's no delay whatsoever.
Thoughts?
(btw Audiovox tech support told me not to worry about it, but they've given me bad advice in the past so I'm reluctant to listen to them on this one)
Thanks in advance!

Strange.....
Usually you get your ignition power FIRST then the STARTER with the acc somewhere in between.
How long does it crank? Or is it cranking, failing shutting down, pausing then rehitting the ignition power, and then start again? This one's gonna need a specific series of events to troubleshoot.
What are the very first things that happen once the truck recieves the signal, any relay clicks prior to the starter kicking in?
Who installed it?
