Where to tap power - ignition harness or battery?
I'm getting ready to install a remote start alarm in my '03 F150 screw this weekend and was curious as to where the best place to pull power would be.
I've been told that one source (of two) should be direct to the battery. I've also heard the ignition harness is fine for both.
Thoughts?
Also, as far as door entry, should I use the dome light or GEMS?
Thanks so much!

You would find less work going at the ignition wires. Ford uses more than one 12 consant high current wire too. Look at it this way, if the truck already uses these wires to power everything in the truck why couldn't the remote start, you not adding any additional noteworthy current draw to your truck! Besides it makes the install cleaner. Although it's a different story if you were driving an intrepid, caravan etc...
PS - don't use t-taps or scotch locks especially with; start, ign, accy and 12v wires... Solder them!
