Last month on a trip to NY I had a situation where after going into a store and coming out the truck wouldnt start. Had it flatbeded to a dealer and they stated the cause was a corroded Pos battery cable. In the process it took out my starter/solenoid. They replaced the starter, starter solenoid, relay and both Pos and Neg cables. They stated the corrosion caused a short that burned up the cable and the starter due to corrosion at the terminal. Luckily I had the Ford warranty but it DOES NOT include the cost of the battery cables. My cost with 50 deductible added in was 252.00 in the end. 202.00 was for the battery cable and install of the same.
Poking around tonight I found 2 TSB that were posted about this. Does anyone have access to the full TSB and what Ford stated was to be done? I hate to pay for something if its possible a TSB was written to make dealers aware of the problem.

Some vehicles may exhibit a no crank, no start condition due to corrosion of the starter cable B+ terminal at the starter solenoid *TT

TSB # 15299--NHTSA 630202
Model- F150 Year 2000 Date of bulletin Oct 01, 2001
Component : Electrical System: Starter System
Some vehicles may exhibit corrosion at the attachment point of the starter cable B+ terminal, at the starter solenoid.

TSB # 15260-- couldnt get anymore info but its also with the starter and battery cable dealing with corrosion.

Anyone have access to the full TSB on these they could email me? Both of these deal with what the dealer stated the cause/problem was. I want to see if the dealer in NY would reverse the charge or refund me if the TSB showed there was a problem that they were aware of......Its worth a try is it possible to get this ??
