Unfortunately me and my 03 xl sport were involved in an accident today. Luckily me, my roommate and the truck didn't take too much damage. Just my lower plastic valance on the bumper and my main bumper got tore to hell. It hit right where the frame rail meets the bumper so at least I don't have a bumper collapsed on itself. But the root of my questions stems from the airbags being deployed. I was going no more than 10 mph when i ran into a back of the trailer which I had about 5 feet when I hit the brakes and on impact I was just expecting a crash between vehicles and was struck in the arms and face with the airbags and the complementing smell. Why would my airbags deploy at this low of a speed and such small impact. Could this possibly be a warranty issue? Or am I just SOL when it comes to airbags being deployed, because I know those will be the most expensive repair. Any help on this would greatly appreciated.
