Another Batt. LT. Problem 98' F-150

Very strange, Amp. gauge is reading just at the right spot. Lights and air all on and amp. reads the change in current.
I try an old batt. that was low on charge and the amp meter read that too.
At night there is no sign of lights dimming at idle or under a load.
And with engine off the batt. is putting out full power.
And I tryed the fuse deal on #19 no luck there. Sometime there is just to many bell and whistles. Does anyone have any ideas!

If your battery light is shining, it has got to be getting voltage from either your battery or your alternator, right? I would be interested in finding out where this "difference in potential" was coming from. The famous light green and red wire that runs from the alternator to the battery light has a separate connector that is usually pretty easy to find. With everything up and running, if you disconnected this connector, I believe this would show you whether or not the voltage was coming from the alternator -- which seems likely if your alternator is charging your battery. So, if the charging light is not able to "see" the battery, and the voltage from the alternator is causing it to light, it could be that the connection between your ignition switch and battery light is open, right?

Have you replaced the battery, alternator, or starter recently?

Please don't mistake me for an expert -- I'm just trying to "find my way" and learn a little about electrical system troubleshooting.

No I haven't replaced any of those things, have had not one problem any where on this truck. It does sound like you have a good Idea on the geen wire.
Because there is no sign of the batt. being discharged.
I had an old GMC truck that was one big SHORT. And I'm a pro. at all that can happen on a alt. reg. and batt. etc. problems, but there are just one to many lights on these new trucks.

Here's a wiring diagram for a 98 Ford Expedition, if the picture doesn't come out clearly enough, I can email another one. Notice on the lower right corner the LG/R wire? That's the one I was talking about.
