radio gremlins
When listening to my radio, it occassionally will go silent and when I look at it, it will read something like T R O 1 and also sometimes it will say C D.
It will only last for a few seconds and the radio will start again.
What's going on???

Sorry, I need to add that this is on my 99 f250 superduty.
It has a cd player. It also sounds like something might be running in it like it might be rewinding or something.
Thanks
Randy

There were a few instances of the radio having cold solder joints, that caused the display to do strange stuff, similar to this.
If you are comfortable with soldering with a good tip on your iron, here are some directions that others have done in the past, with great results.

This site describes the method to repair it, or I think he offers to do it for a fee.
The other option if you DIY, and it does not help is to get a new head unit from some place like Crutchfield. I suggest there, as they have the required pig tails for converting the stock harness to the radio pig tail, and offer free tech support on wiring of the unit, if you don't already have an electrical manual for your year truck.
Good luck, let us know which route you take.
