Post Ignition Switch Problems

I have a 97 f150 supercab 4+4 lariat that Ive just brought this month.
My problem is when the key is out of the ignition the chime still sounds.. You can hit the steering wheel and it will sometimes quit.. Any info this matters will be helpful.

Thanks..

Remove the lock cylinder (turn key to run position insert small punch in hole on bottom steering column trim cover right under lock cylinder.Push up on punch while pulling out on lock cylinder. Once cylinder is remove look to see if( key in switch)is seated properly It will be a black/pink wire. If switch is ok problem is in lock cylinder There is a tang on cylinder that connects circuit to ground you may be able to adjust it . Let us know results.

Thumbs up

Stan
Sorry I haven't replyed sooner, Just been busy.. I check out the
Ignition Switch like you said to do and found the wire. It went to a small gray clip where the switch goes in. The clip was broken and was allowing it to ground. I cut the clip out and tape up the wire. Thanks for your help....
