Question Foglights and the Brights

I recently added the foglight modification to my 03 F-150. Thanks everyone for the help on that project but really it was simple and you can't tell I even did anything at all and it all works like factory except for the foglights don't turn off when I turn on the brights...So my question is does it make any difference if I leave them on or do i have to shut them off so something doesn't overheat....OR is there some way to fix it so it doesn't do that?

With the version of the mod, that you remove part of the ramp on the switch, this should allow for the Fogs to run with the parking lamps or the low beams. The multifunction switch will shut off the power the fog lamps when the high beams are turned on ( at least in a 2001 it is that way ).

With the version of the mod, that changes where the power for the fog lamp switch is obtained, then no they will run regardless of the position of the high / low beams, as the multifunction switch only would turn off power for the stock fog lamp switch power source.

So I guess it somes down to which version of the fog lamp mod you did ( or if you did both; some have done that as well ), as to what the fix is for the fogs lamps with the high beams.

As for overheating, not there is no concern of anything over heating, seperate wiring, seperate fuses, seperate lamp holders.
If you don't mind, just leave it as is.

Where can I get a copy of how to do both light switch mods. I want my fogs to stay on when I use the high beams and I want to be able to have just the fogs on with the parking lights. Thanks

02SUPRCREW,
Here is a link that shows the fog light modification, with pictures. I believe it does both mods, but I'm not positive. You can check it out and see.

Hope this helps.

thanks man I was just afraid of the fact of something overheating or overdrawing on the battery and causing me some real electrical problems. As of the mods I had to do both on my 03 just the switch mod didn't do anything for me so I had to splice the wires to if anybody was wondering.

OK, did the physical mod to the switch only(have not jumpered any of the switch wiring). Now I can pull out the switch **** in the auto lamp position and have the fogs on. The only problem I have is the fogs only stay on when the headlights are on dim. Is there something I can do to make the fogs stay on with both the brights and dims yet still have the auto lamp function when I shut the truck off??????????????
