fuse box or gem?

The dealership says my fuse box needs replaced because of windshield leak. Also read about the gem but where is it? They said they cleaned out fuse box but I don't see how that's possible without taking it out. Anyone else had electrical problems from a leaky windshield? thanks

The GEM is attached to the back of the Central Junction Box. It is a known problem for the windshield to leak and cause problems with the GEM and Central Junction Box.

same problems

The GEM is right behind the fuse box. If you get a mirror and a flash light you will see 2 squares about 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches right in back with a bolt in the center of each square. When you start to loosen the bolts the modules will start to seperate from the connection. Its a really tight fit but the easiest way that I found to get to it. I tried taken the whole dash board apart but I ran into obsticals. I have the same problem everytime it rains!! I tried to to spray it down with electrical contact cleaner I picked up at the auto shop but no joy. I also had alot of other electrical problems which all had the GEM in common. I really dont know how much it will cost to have the window resealed and the GEM replaced but would like to know because its raining again.
good luck bro
