Theft light blinking while driving

Hey all,

My wife just called and said the theft light is blinking all the time. Even while driving down the road. Nothing I've read so far has to do with it being on while driving. I did tell her to try to figure if it was flashing a code and she said it seemed pretty steady. Any heads up before I can get more info from her?

1999 w/ 5.4 xlt

Thanks

Hi defective, the Ford device you are asking about is the most sophisticated and error free component on the entire truck.

I don't know how to break this to you my friend but, I'm afraid your wife is a thief.

Danny,

It's the stock "THEFT" light. I know blinking is normal when the thing is off or not running, but it's doing it when it's running and driving down the road with the normal key we always use.

Raoul,

What are you talking about?

Thanks for the replies guys.

THEFT

Well thats a new one, at least for me.Sounds like a problem with the HEC module (inst. cluster). Maybe its got a code stored in it. Maybe someone has ran across this one before. When it starts blinking rapidly, then you have a big problem because, then it shouldnt start.

She just called again. Must have something to do with the remote start. Truck will not start with remote now, and doors will not unlock with remote. She is stuck now because she left the key in it. I'll update later.

Just wondered what happened to this inquiry?
I am experiencing the same...Expy2000 won't start...and theft light on the dash shows "16" code...blinks once (1), pause, then
blinks six (6) times, pause and then repeats...
