No key in the ignition modification

After spending an hour messing around with the ignition cylinder, this is what I can now do . . .

No More Key Video

Cool video!

Does that mean you can only start it with a key and that it will lock again when turned off?

temp1 - yes to both of your questions.

So from a safety/security standpoint, nothing has been given up.

I used to have a Chevy Celebrity that was so old that the ignition cylinder wore out to the point I could remove the key. I got in the habit of putting the keys in my pocket as soon as I got the car started so that I never had to worry about locking my keys in the car.

It is also a handy feature to have in the winter for warming up your truck.

I do some courier work right now and leave the engine running to save time and wear on my starter. I would love to do this modification...

both of my previous F150's ended up with this capability on their own after a couple of years!
