Question Cig. Lighter Fuse

I just purchased a 1998 F-150. I am a volunteer firefighter and i need both outlets to run lights from. My power source (outlet on the left) works great, but the actual cig lighter doesnt work at all. I did not get a manual w/ my new truck so i dont know what fuse to check...i would really appreciate some help....thanx

JIM

Well some times the light side will not work with some plugins items only a lighter but the fuse should be # 3 fuselooking at the panel relays on the left or by the door and start counting down from that side the small fuses. I have a bad problem with my truck now that the gauge light goes out and comes on sometime i have to hit panel to get them back on so i am taking it back to ford with the Ext. warrt. now and see if they will fix it free or it will be gone I only own Fords but if they can not do folks like me right i will go to a difft. truck. I am a paid fire Inspector and have been in the Fire service for over 30 years I work for the Gov. let me know about this ok

A good starting ref until you can find a 98 manual is to download the 99 manual from Ford.

I do not recall the differences from 98 to 99, so be careful with using it.
If nothing else you might get a good idea of where fuses are...maybe ??
