Possesed door locks

Ok guys, auto lock has always bothered me, so after a week of driving my truck I disabled it. Well, everything was going fine and then driving to school one day they just locked and unlocked by them selves. I went home and told my dad (of course he jsut laughed) but just the other day I was coming home from school with my sister, the locks were going CRAZY. They were locking and unlocking, trying to lock when they were already locked, unlock, then lock, and the indicator and thing u can puch down would go down like half way, then all the way. Also, There is a clicking sound that comes from around the radio when ever you lock the door(i think its supposed to be normal) and you jsut jsut hear it clickin the whole way home, like a machine gun most of the time. It drives me insane, and scares me half the time.

Does anyone know what could be, or how to solve it? Is it because I deactivated the auto lock? I even reactivated and then unactivated teh autolock a second time, no luck. So, any help is apprieciated. Thanx

Only way to tell if it is because of the autolock, leave the autolock activated and see if it still does it. If not, then it's because you disabld the auto-lock. If it does, then no, it has nothing to do with it.

Yeah, I went out there to do that like just 15 minutes ago and my friggin battery is dead . It had locked itself too, good thing I had the keys out, so I just hit the unlock button on my remote, nothin happens, tried it more, still nithin, so I had to use the key, I spose it was wiht the battery down. I stuck the charger on it tho, so when it gets charged up im deactivating autolock then seein' if it still does it.

This happened to my wifes windstar -- it was a short caused by a water leak onto the wiring harness. Pull the power lock fuse until you find the short and repair it.

My 2000 Navigator was experiencing phantom locking/unlocking shortly after I bought it last year.

I finally traced the problem to a sticky switch on the driver's door. If it did not return to its neutral position, it would cause the power locks to go spastic. I was able to duplicate the problem by precisely playing with the switch.

Local Ford dealer replace the switch assembly under warranty and corrected the problem.

IF THE LOCKS ARE SWITCHING ALL THE TIME AND MAKING THE NOISES, IT COULD BE A RELAY (CLICKING IN AND OUT) SOMEWHERE IN THE AUTOLOCK CIRCUIT. HOWEVER IF YOUVE GOT IT TURNED OFF SOMEHOW IT IS GETTING VOLTAGE TO THE PLUNGER IN THE DOOR. WOULD LOOK FOR A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT.
