Wipers

Got a bit of a problem with the electrical system (I think) on the wipers on the 2000 Expy.
Lately, on any intermittent setting on the wipers, they will go about halfway up and stop and then resume and then stop again. The wipers work OK on both continuous settings, but not on the intermittent. Also, the back wiper doesn't go at all.
To me, it sounds like a single module or connection going out.
Any thoughts?
thanks,
tbird

Sound to me like you have the stalk problem that so many of us have/have had.

Basically, it's the switch. My intermittent wipers work on two speeds, not the 8 or so that are shown on the stalk. I have a slow intermittent and a fast intermittent. Nothing inbetween. It's a crappy design problem that all kinds of folks have had problems with.

Resurrected thread!!
Big bump.
TTT....

Seriously, though...
Is the fix for this to replace the multifunction switch. Is that what everyone is doing?
I got in and replaced the 9 pin connector that kept coming out when the tilt was down (therefore we never used tilt because no blinkie), but I still have the wiper problem. Fuse is good. Relay contacts are good. I'm gonna check tomorrow if my VIN is a part of the wiper motor recall (may have done this but can't remember right now). Read a thread about taking the signal lever guts out and cleaning them.
Any progress on a good fix for this disease?
Thanks,
tbird

edit: Just found another thread talking about cleaning out the stalk and then regreasing. I'm gonna try that first. Obviously cheaper!!!
