Tried to started my truck today and the battery was dead. I jumped it off and it ran fine. It was like something came on during the night and drained the battery.
I then noticed my gauges coming on and going off when the key was out. The anti theft light is also coming on and preventing the engine from starting and then going off and allowing the engine to start.
I'm beginning not to trust this truck.

Help please!!!

 

Just a WAG but maybe the ignition switch is screwed up?

 

It sounds as if you might have to reprogram the key fob or that there may be a problem with it...

Most all of the F-series trucks have a microchip in the key that tells the anti-theft system that the true owner is trying to start it (or at least the true key) With that in mind, it sounds to me like either the computer doesn't recognize the key or they key isn't transmitting the necessary signal.
