Problems with my 1999 F150

Have the following problems with my F150 Ford
1. Seat belt lights stay on all the time.
2. My column shifter does not go to park.
3. Sounds coming from my rear end or wheel bearings.

1) Check connections in belt recepticle and under seat. do you have someting large sitting in the passanger seat without the seat belt?
2) Does the trans not go into park or is the indicator not showing it in 'p'
3) Ring and pinion in the diff. are known to have a problem. prob. needs a rebuild but you might try servicing the rear diff. and see how it goes. Make sure to use the limited slip additive if you are equpiied with limited slip.

Yes, I always have my suitcase sitting in the driver's seat, but I will check the belt recepticles.

Yes, the trans goes into park, its just the shifter stops at "R".

I will take the truck in tomorrow to have the differtial serviced with hopes that will take care of the sound.

Thanks for your help.

Jose

for the **** cable you can adj. it at the colunm.

remove uppper steering wheel cover
put shift lever in drive postition
move shift lever all the way ccw then back 2 detents
hang a weight on the lever
center the needle on drive
remove all the slack out of the cable with the thumb wheel at the bottom of the colunm
reassemble
