Question tachometer

I have a 2004 F150 XL .When I bought the truck they had no xlt models. I would like a add a tachometer.Do I need to buy a special type?And most important how the heck do I wire it in since there is no distubutor.

Most aftermarket tachs come with instructions as to which lead off the PCM is used for the tach input...

I installed a tach on my '98 XL 'Scab. Don't remember which lead it was, but it was definitely easy to do.

You might try posting this in the 2004 Model section of this forum...
