Fuse #13 blowing

I have a 97 F-150 XL 4x4. Fuse #13, which is always hot, according to the manual, Blows immediately after a new one is installed. I have disconnected the electrical plug from the brake stop switch on the pedal, but the fuse still blows. With the fuse out, I have no brake lights, and the ABS light is flashing sixteen times (fifteen short, one long). Also on this vehicle... Cruise Control is inoperative. Anyone have any ideas?

Same Problem

I have the exact same problem with my 2000 F150. I keep instantly blowing fuse 13 and my cruise control has been inoperable for some time as well. Also, My odometer fades in and out, it has done this for years. It still reads correctly but sometimes it is completely black. Please help!!!

Fer crissakes, go get your cruise recall done before you burn your truck to the ground along with anything around it (like your house, if you park in an attached garage).

...and please avoid resurrecting threads that have been dead for years...

Your odometer is a different issue. SEARCH keyword "+odometer +blackout" or "+intermittent +odometer"
