Fuse help

Quick question, if my amp has 2 60A fuses in it for a total of 120A, would it do any good to have a 125A fuse on the power line near the battery?

If not, how would I put a 120A fuse there?

I just switched amps and had to bump it up from 80 to 120 and can't figure out how since they don't make 120A fuses.

One small problem if you feed both lines with a single wire. That would need to be a ~ 1 AWG wire, akin to the size wire on a old 100A house service wire.

This stuff does not bend worth a damn, for routing the wire.

If you have 2 60 Amp fuses, the wire would be 2 x 6 AWG to handle the draw on the Amps that you have.

With that in mind, putting a 125 A fuse by the battery is only if there is a short in the harness, not so much for overload protection.

It would work fine for that need, so the 5 A larger fuse is fine.

Good Luck
