Problems not starting continuation
Well if you have read my message earlier of my Brand New 2003 F-150 not starting back in late Sept....I have managed to put 700 miles on her with NO problems...until today!!!!!! Did the same exact thing...rolling over but never started. After numerous time of attempts......I pulled the key out of ignition, rotated the key 180, inserted and POOF...it starts!!!! I will be taking her back to the dealership today. Under the lemon law in Illinois....4 times or greater within a 30 day time period warrent measures of replacement or total money back. We will see Have a great day Patience Awaits
I have a 02 supercrew 5.4L, Bought it in Aug. 03 and have experinced the same problem. It finally starts after multiple attempts. I did not intentionally rotate the key, but in frustration may have. It may go weeks before it happens again, but I'll try the key trick.
>>>>Any updates Snapper? Just curious if you visited your dealer and what their response was to the problem. I experienced the same problem for the first time yesterday on my 2002 5.4. But I can't be sure if I removed the key after several unsuccessful attempts to start it before it finally started. I had gotten out to check a few things and was gettin a little upset at the time. I figured it had to be the fuel pump, passive theft, or the inertia switch because the truck was cranking over fine. It just seemed like it was either starved of fuel or that the ingition was not firing. As far as the theft light, I don't remember seeing it. But that thing is a little dim in the daylight so I could have missed it I suppose.
