factory CD question

I have a 97 Expy with a front bench seat. The radio has the CD functions but I don't have a CD changer. Did these bench seat vehicles come with changers and where were they mounted? Also I found many Ford CD changers at the junk yards but none of them have what they call the "basket". Is this available from Ford? Thanks.

Are you sure you don't have a CD player? Mine's below the driver's side rear window in the well. I didn't even know I had one (bought the truck used) until a week after I had it.

I've heard that's where they put them in the pickups but I have an Expedition.

dont know 100%, but looking at where they are on other cars/trucks I would look under the passenger seat or in the trunk/cargo area (might be behind a removeble panel?)

Factory CD player question

I have a 97 F150 with extended cab. I bought it used and didn't know it had a CD unit till i took it to the car wash to clean it up. I found it in the left rear arm rest. When it is covered it sort of looked like a large covered ash tray. however I have the opposite problem. I don't have CD controls on my radio! Someone had replaced the factory CD/radio unit with a standard AM/FM casette player. I found a head unit on Ebay and am bidding on it now. The owner also has a CD player unit available if you can't find the one in your truck.
