Trailer help

I am going to set my 2001 f-150 4x4 ext cab up for towing. I was wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction on where to get this info. I need a seven pin and I am going to have trailer breaks as well. I have hitch in place plug and break box in the cab now I need to hook all up. HELP

If I'm reading your post correctly, you have the receiver installed, as well as the brake controller in the cab. You want a 7-pin, so I'm guessing you currently have the 4-pin harness.

If so, you'll need the following:

- 7-pin harness (from Ford, or aftermarket)
- Reverse Relay & Charging System Relay (#302 & 203 in under hood fuse box) These are only necessary if you're using these features.
- Ensure that both taillight fuses for trailer (#19 & #20 in under hood fuse box) are installed and good.

Once you've put all this in, you should be good to go from a wiring perspective. Don't forget to set up your controller with your trailer - per the manufacturer's specs.
