New Battery, What is the best!

ok,

I have a 1998 5.4L V8 XLT and I need a new battery, What are some of my options. I have been looking at the Optima Red tops and might try one of those, but maybe there is something better out there that I haven't heard about yet!

so any suggestions would be very helpful.

This question has come up a number of times, and if you want try try a SEARCH you'll find all kinds of ideas.

My .02? Stick with the Motocraft like truck came with, mine lasted 6 years in a tropical climate. That's no mean feat; I have other vehicles that had their batteries (Delco, DieHard) quit after an average of 3.

On my 98 F-150 Motorcraft lasted me 5 years with no problem. Sold the truck with the factory Battery. I'm currently running Optima Red top on my wift Yukon XL. I had this for about over a year and I'm happy with it but don't know how long it will last

I just had one to go dead on me. I replaced it with a Duralast Gold 750cca. I am happy with it so far, came with a 3 year warranty. I almost got 4 years out of my Motorcraft battery.

I usually go with Canadian tire Motomaster Eliminator Batt.
They last about 5 yrs and cold start good to-40.

The latest and greatest Batt. are the spiral cell batt.
They are tough and have a ton of cranking amps.

One brand is OPTIMA BATTERIES
