Ignition Problems..
Ignition Problems..
Hello All,
Sorry I have been MIA for a while, but I once again need some vast knowledge from the greatest online ford truck community in the world.
Here it goes, Tonight i went out to my truck to go pick up my kid, and I turned the key on and it was dead. I figured I left a dome light on or something, I haven't driven it in 2 days. So i Jumped it, but I didn;t notice any charging on the Gauge and the battery light was not on.. So I am still thinking dead battery. So i took it for a drive in 1st around the block to keep the RPM's up to help charge it.
Got back home was parrallel parking and when I started to pull forward it died... Completely no headlights, no dash lights D E A D.
So I go and jump it again.. but meanwhile my headlights began to come back but very very dim. I jumped it started right up. So i took the negative battery cable off to see if the Alternator is going bad.. or is bad.. and it idled fine for about 5 mins so i hooked everything back up. Pulled forward and across the street to turn around to be able to put it in my driveway so I can put the battery charger on tonight and it stalled going up the incline of my driveway.
I left it again for a few minutes and when i opened the door my dome light started flashing. Almost like a sequence of three blinks and then it would stay out and come back on in three blinks.
Not sure exactly what is going on. I have installed a stereo system, with a 250 Watt Pioneer amp but I have had no problems until now and its been in for a year. I haven't checked into any fuses or anything yet..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The thing that comes to my mind is a sulfated cell in the bettery or one that is getting worse on you.
Here is a site with some info on Sulfation if you want to read through it.

Here is a link to a web site that shows testing prcoedures.
