4x4 indicator & Power window connected?
4x4 indicator & Power window connected?
I've posted about this before - but now it's much worse.
I'll be driving normal and suddenly I'll hear some clicking from under the far left side of the dash. The 4x4 and Low Range indicators will light up for about a second - sometime blinking with the clicking. when this little episode is over, my drivers side power window doesn't roll down. It'll roll up just fine. Occasionally it fix itself and other times I need to shut my truck off and restart it. Sometimes this'll happen about every minute (regardless of whether I have shut the truck down or continued to drive) and other times I can go a day or two without it happening. I don't think the transfer case is actually trying to shift, more like the 4x4 light lighting up when you first turn the ignition on.
my truck is a '97 f-150 reg cab. electric shift 4x4.
I hate to take it to a mechanic thinking that this is the day it won't act up and I'll be stuck with a labor bill & my truck still won't be fixed. I'm hoping somebody here will have an idea first.

Sounds like a Gem problem. Take a look under the dash and see if it looks like water has been leaking into the module. Common problem on the 97-98 F150's. Luckily it hasn't happened to mine.
