Engine disabler

Recently had my old truck stolen and am now concerned about my 2002 truck. It does have a factory engine disabler with a blinking red led light when it is sitting.
Are most of you out there satisfied with this alone or do you feel this is adequate enough?

Thanx
Dave

I already checked out tha thread before posting and was informaive. But I already have the kill system, disabler.
I was just wondering if anybody went beyond what I already have.
Such as a layered security system or whatever.

The honest truth is, all though the other kill switch methods are impressive, they are basically worthless. The current system on our trucks needs the right key with the correct chip or it will not start. Is it the lastest and greatest system out there? Yes and no, those that may be out for a night wanting to steal their first car/truck won't be able to but professional auto theifs will. Professional will get past ALL by-pass and kill systems.

Bottom line if someone wants a truck/car or what ever bad enough it WILL be taken and there is NOTHING you can do about it. As for all those nice and time consuming kill switches, well they don't do so well when someone just hooks up to your truck and drags it off, just like the repo man, you will not stop him/her from taken your truck.

Sure they may not be able to drive it but alot of times they steal them and part them out.

My advice is have the insurance you need to replace it if stolen and don't worry about it. If it happens it happens and you can just go get a nice new truck...
