Interior lights?

I have a 99 f-150 and I while ago My interior lights turned on and would never shut off along with the cargo light. I thought initially that it was just a door switch but I disconnected them and the problem still was there, I then took the bulbs out and forgot about it. I then thought It might be a relay or something? I need to get it figured out soon though as my alarm does not function right without this working. has anybody had this problem or know what it might be? Thanks

Phillip

Yeah, I wish it was as simple as wd40, It looks like I have the only case where this is not the deal. I did that many times(wd40), and used all sorts of cleaners with no avail, I have tried taking the doors apart and like I said, I disconnected all the wires to the door, and the problem stays on. It has got to be a relay, but I dont know where they are? Thanks though, I sure wish it was that.

Might be a silly question, but have you tried disconnecting the circuit from the alarm that is attached to the interior lighting circuit, and see if the problem persists ?

The interior lamps and cargo lamp are driven by the GEM. If the alarm is not providing power to the circuit, then the next place to check is the output of the GEM on the interior light circuit.

If you don't know which one the wire is for the interior lights, you can try pulling the fuse for the interior lights, and see if the light still work the same, which points to the alarm providing power on the interor light circuit.

Let us know what the outcome is.
