2001 150 V6 Power Window Prob
Windows stuck in up position. All 5a fuses checked and OK. No sounds heard when depressing either switch. Passenger side same condition. Reference in OwnMan indicate 601CB in engine compartment controls windows. Space is empty.....always has been. Relay4 in cabin replaced. Did not fix problem. Any advice would be appreciated.
Ok, in your passenger compartment you have one relay #4 that is for one touch down window relay (from pg. 185 in the owners manual for 2001) this is no concern because you don’t have any power at all.
Now, on pg. 186 you will see a diagram for the power distribution box which is in the engine compartment. There is a circuit breaker listed as fuse 601 from pg. 188. I believe that may be your problem since you have NO power at all to either of the windows. I did not see any other fuses just that one circuit breaker.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: After re-reading your post I see you mention CB601, the circuit breaker I stated. It states in the manual it is for the power windows, and moonroof in the supercab.
Seems odd that it is missing, are you sure it has "always" been missing? There is no other fuse, relay or circuit breaker to cut power from the hot side in case of a short.
The relay in the cab is only for the one touch. If it was no good you would have to hold the button on the drivers side to get the window all the way down. Other then that the relay in the cab does nothing to protect the power window circuit in case of a short. Is it possible someone took CB601 out in the past few days without you knowing?

relay
in my 2003 f150 super cab i have an open relay spot that is for power windows and moonroof for screw only relay loc 601. i would assume the super cab uses one of the accessory relays.
also the drivers side master switch might be bad if that goes neither side will work because the passenger side power goes through the drivers switch. never experienced it on an f150 but did on my 86 cougar and 85 marquis. and when i worked in the junk yard we couldnt keep them in stock on any imports

I appreciate your giving thougt to my predicament.
Regarding CB601 Breaker under the hood, if you notice in the manual description of that breaker, it says" Power Windows, Moonroof (Supercab Only). If one interprets the manual like I did, CB601 is ONLY found in the Supercab model.
This is mostly a rhetorical quetion, but wouldn't it make sense that there would be a much more obvious reference to the power window fuses than what is in the manual?
As for someone "borrowing" my CB601, if in fact it ever existed, I guess that's possible, but unlikely.
What do you thing about jmb3675 assertion that if the driver rocker switch goes bad then the passenger side goes out too? I imagine one has to remove the door panels and such to get at the thing.
Thanks again for your insights. They are appreciated.

Sorry, I blew this one big time and had HOPED to post a better answer but my dealer did NOT call back.
I went out and looked at my truck and as has been stated NO CB601.
I took the description power windows, moonroof (supercabs only) to mean that the moonroof part was supercab only.
That sure is odd that there is NO protection for the power windows as far as a breaker or fuse. That is why I had hoped my dealer would have called back to explain that.
Again, sorry for the bad info...

Don't apologize. I was as surprised as you were that there is no power protection.
I hope your dealer does call you back. If he does, please be so kind as to share his reply here. In the meantime, I am going to try the switch diagnosis jmb3675 suggests and see what that gets me.
Thanks to both of you for your advice. I will let ya'll know what I find out.
Have a great and SAFE holiday weekend

Well, thank you but as far as I am concerned an apology was in order on my behalf for not being more thorough with my response, and I should have checked my own truck first to see if it had CB601.
Thank you for being understanding. I will give my dealer a call on Monday. I am sure there will be no one in the service department tomorrow. I would have thought they would have called me back, but maybe they are dumbfounded as well as to “why” there is no apparent “logical” circuit protection for power windows and looking further into it as well. Then again maybe they were being lazy and figure “If we don’t call him he will have to bring the truck in so we can fix it $$$$$$$$”

01XLT Sport,
Were you able to contact your dealer buddy about the power window issue we have going on here? Inquiring minds want to know.
I pulled EVERY fuse in the joint and still no windows. I pushed on the fusebox as others have suggested. STILL no windows. I did this and I did that. STILL no windows.
Anyway, please keep an ear open for me. Thanks again!

jmb - can you tell me if this is, indeed, true? I'm at work right now, and my passenger window is halfway down! Neither the driver's side, or passenger side switch will put the window up - but both will put the window down.
I went to crack open the window for ventilation, and wanted to put is back up a little - and it wouldn't go! Driver's side works fine. Passenger side will go down (obviously), but not up - from either switch.
I was thinking I could rule out the switches since both had the same behavior; but, in light of your statement, what I'm seeing would make sense. The windows were working fine yesterday, and all of a sudden this AM, they don't!!
I don't have anything listed in my manual about relays, breakers, or even fuses - except for the one-touch feature. I don't have a test light with me; but will be able to start checking this out at home.
Of course, rain is potentially in the forecast today....
Thanks!
