Disable door ajar warning when key is in ignition?

Does anyone know how to disable the door ajar warning tone when the key is in the iginition? It would be nice to be able to listen to the stereo with the driver side door open without that deafening warning tone. Thanks, Bob.

Lightbulb here's help

A while back I was installing neon in my driver's side door. To run the wire you have to remove the kick panel to run the wire through the grommet that is right there on the side of the truck. To get to the grommet i had to disconnect some things and when I did one of them I noticed that the warning chime quit going off.

INSTRUCTIONS (keep with me, they're not too difficult)

1. With the door opened, remove the bottom piece of plastic trim on the the door sill. Just pull straight up on it. (Don't worry about being rough on it. It snaps right back in just as easy as it comes off).

2. When this is loose it should still be connected to the kick panel. Get a good hold on the kick panel and pull straight towards the rear end of the truck. Now you're ready to do some disconnecting.

3. Be sure you have your keys in the ignition. Where the kick panel once was there should be a varioius assorment of wires and connectors. Just disconnect one at a time until you find the one that causes the chime and that's it.

4. To replace your panels just line up the holes and they snap right back in.

OR you can always do what I do and turn up your music loud enough to drown out that chime.

Good luck with whatever you plan to do!
