hey guys im new here so lets see if you guys can help me out. i have a 1989 f-150 with a 300 6 cyl 4x4.everytime id wash my truck it would make my truck not wanna pump fuel anymore.ive replaced maybe 4 fuel pumps,and the last time i was out muddin the truck just died,tried to restart it would run horribly and flames would come out the tips.now it doesnt even wanna stay running,like its starving of gas. i pulled the plugs and they were black, i mean black.i thought it was a fuel pressure regulator but i dont know anymore! any hints guys!!

 

You are probably getting water in the distributor.
If you weren't getting fuel, the plugs would not be black.
